This award shall be made available to students of undergraduate class standing who have taken at least one business class.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Lewis Scholarship for Honors Students:</strong> This scholarship is for students participating in a semester study abroad program. Students must also be a member of the University Honors Program.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Waltz Affordability Scholarship: </strong>The Waltz 草榴社区 Affordability Scholarship exists to assist with additional expenses of studying abroad when compared to on-campus expenses, with awards ranging from $1,000 to $2,000.&nbsp;Selection will be based on the applicant choosing a study abroad program that supports their academic plan, developing a financial plan, and demonstrating that this scholarship is required to fulfill that financial plan.&nbsp;<em>Priority consideration will be given to students applying for future terms. If awarded, students can use the scholarship any time in the next 7&nbsp;semesters; the scholarship will be disbursed the term the student is studying abroad.&nbsp;&nbsp;</em></li> <li><strong>WiSE 草榴社区 Scholarship</strong>: The WiSE scholarship is for female-identifying students with a major in a STEM field who are applying or accepted to a study abroad program in a non-traditional location.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <hr /> <h2>Additional Scholarship Opportunities:</h2> <ul> <li><strong><a href="https://www.gilmanscholarship.org/">Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship</a></strong>: The U.S. Department of State鈥檚 Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. To be eligible for the Gilman Program, applicants must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship. <a href="https://www.gilmanscholarship.org/applicants/eligibility/">Eligibility requirements</a>. <ul> <li> <p><a href="https://www.gilmanscholarship.org/program/stem-supplemental-award/"><strong>STEM Supplemental Award</strong></a>: The Gilman Program is providing supplemental awards of up to $1,000 each for a Gilman Scholar to conduct STEM-related research abroad as part of their study abroad or international internship program. Students can select to be considered for the STEM Supplemental Award through the Gilman application.</p> </li> <li> <p><a href="https://www.gilmanscholarship.org/program/gilman-mccain-scholarships/"><strong>Gilman-McCain Scholarship</strong></a>:&nbsp;The John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families (Gilman-McCain Scholarship) provides awards of $5,000 for child and spousal dependents of active or activated United States military personnel during the time of application to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. Applicants must be recipients of any Title IV federal financial aid during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving Title IV federal financial aid during their study abroad program or internship.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="https://fundforeducationabroad.org/apply/"><strong>Fund for Education Abroad:</strong></a> The&nbsp;Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) provides scholarships and ongoing support to students who are underrepresented among the U.S. study-abroad population. Maktoum Hamad Al Seiari graduated from Iowa State University (ISU) with a degree in chemical engineering in Spring 2019. &nbsp;Maktoum was very passionate about the betterment of understanding between cultures. He was one of the first UAE students to actively participate in the ISU 草榴社区 Program to the United Arab Emirates and continued to do so until his death. Each year, he contributed time and resources to the pre-trip orientation, and to welcoming nearly 30 students and faculty into his home in Abu Dhabi further illustrating the generosity of the UAE culture. While in his home, the food, desserts, tea and gifts never stopped flowing. Since joining the&nbsp;Office for Global Engagement in 2016, Visha has taken on various responsibilities to support the office.</p> <p>Visha provides administrative support to faculty for implementing study abroad programs, handles logistical processes essential for travel courses, liaisons with students enrolled in travel courses, manages study abroad program applications and student鈥檚 study abroad enrollment within ISU ABROAD (study abroad database), reviews and administers study abroad scholarship managed by the Office for Global Engagement, delivers study abroad analytical reports and liaisons with other study abroad offices within Iowa State University. Visha has had the opportunity to participate and observe faculty-led travel courses which includes courses to Greece, Italy, China, Australia, United Arab Emirates and Spain. In addition to providing support for study abroad programs in CALS, Visha liaisons with exchange partners and provides support for hosting international students visiting Iowa State for study abroad, research and/or internship.
