Studying abroad has provided me with a transformative experience to becoming a well-rounded, culturally educated individual. The independence derived from my time abroad encourages new friendships, cultural appreciation, and just an all-around amazing time!

Courtney Uhlenhake, a senior in Agricultural Business and International Agriculture from Burlington, Wisconsin, spent the Spring 2022 semester studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland, at the University College Dublin.

“My semester in Dublin, Ireland, has provided many personal, professional, and academic benefits.  The ability to network with individuals in their own culture was extremely fulfilling.  I appreciated the opportunity to travel easily within Europe throughout my time there.  I traveled to nine European countries and explored their cultures through food, attractions, and conversations.  Studying abroad has provided me with a transformative experience in becoming a well-rounded, culturally educated individual.  The independence derived from my time abroad encourages new friendships, cultural appreciation, and just an all-around amazing time! After this experience, I am motivated to travel and learn more about other parts of the world.  The lessons learned to go beyond the curriculum learned in the classroom, and I highly recommend this opportunity to anyone interested. I am excited to see where my next travel abroad experience will take me. “

On campus, Courtney works as a Student Travel Consultant in the CALS ²ÝÁñÉçÇø office and is serving as the Vice-Chair for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Ambassadors Organization. Courtney is also an active member of the Agricultural Business Club and Block and Bridle.
