Students will gain firsthand exposure to an emerging economy in the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates has always been at the forefront of economic diversification. The country has the second largest economy in the Arab world and, more recently, has been attracting foreign direct investment.
The course objective is to enhance students' understanding of production and competition in agricultural world markets. Students will analyze production agriculture (a typical farm or ranch), business and trade in Spain and compare them with respect to the U.S. Pre-departure orientation will familiarize students with the history culture, politics, geography, soils, agriculture, economy and trade of Spain.
3 credits of Agron 496 or Econ 496Â (1-2 credits in AGRON 496 +Â 1-2 credits in ECON 496 to total 3 credits)

The course aims to enhance students' understanding of production and competition in agricultural markets. Students will analyze production agriculture (a typical farm or ranch), business, and trade in Australia and compare them with respect to the USA. The pre-departure orientation will familiarize students with Australia's history, culture, politics, geography, soils, agriculture, economy, and trade.
3 credits for the AGRON/ECON 496 (2 credits of AGRON and 1 of ECON or 2 credits of ECON and 1 of AGRON) during spring semester
