Integrated Management of Tropical Crops in Costa Rica - Spring Break 2025

Program dates are tentative and subject to change

This program provides an introduction to the production of a wide variety of tropical crops (coffee, banana, pineapple, mango, sugar cane, cut flowers, vegetables, papaya, etc.) from the perspective of Costa Rica. The class also explores Costa Rican ecology, history, and culture. Close cooperation with the University of Costa Rica allows many unique opportunities to interact with UCR students and faculty.听

Diverse Gardens and Landscapes of Philadelphia and New York City - Fall

Beautiful gardens, inspiring landmarks, metropolitan cities, and historic sites are just a few things you will see on this Study USA course to New York City and Philadelphia!听 Students will start by traveling to New York City, where they will get a chance to visit one of the most unique and inspiring urban gardens in the world 鈥撎齮he Highline.听 They will visit other iconic 鈥淏ig Apple鈥 landscapes like听听and the听, on

Semester Along the Nile - Uganda

This semester-long program allows students to complete academic coursework, including service learning (GLOBE 494A) in Global Resource Systems, while living and learning in Kamuli, Uganda for the semester. While in Kamuli, students will be enrolled full-time and also have the opportunity to complete on-line ISU courses and in some majors, may complete an internship or independent project.听Students will also have the option to complete their Global Internship (GLOBE 321), and independent project (GLOBE 290 or 490), or earn service learning credits (GLOBE 494A).
