Cathedrals, Castles, Culture and Cuisine-Sustainable, Safe & Nutritious Food and Agriculture in France- Summer 2025

With the growth of the world鈥檚 population and the increasing awareness that our natural resources are limited, development of sustainable systems to produce food is essential. Globally, the food industry is one of the largest industrial sectors, consumes tremendous amounts of energy and water, and can result in large quantities of waste; thus food has a critical impact on the environment, including greenhouse gas emissions and climate change.

The 鈥Empowering Future Leaders in Sustainable Development Through Service Learning in Uganda鈥 program is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity to experience and contribute to a sustainable development project through a service learning experience in rural Uganda. This is an outstanding opportunity for students to live and work cross-culturally with Ugandan students from Makerere University.

EARTH Program - U.S. Virgin Islands

In the ISU EARTH Program, undergraduate students will learn about the culture of the people of the Caribbean and U.S. Virgin Islands鈥 agriculture and ecosystems, while participating in service-learning activities focused on a variety of topics in environmental science, horticulture, sustainability, soil science, culinary science, education and communication, and more!

The summer program duration is approximately 6 weeks.听

Program Courses include:

  • Required pre-departure seminar on campus leading up to the trip
