EARTH Program - U.S. Virgin Islands

In the ISU EARTH Program, undergraduate students will learn about the culture of the people of the Caribbean and U.S. Virgin Islands’ agriculture and ecosystems, while participating in service-learning activities focused on a variety of topics in environmental science, horticulture, sustainability, soil science, culinary science, education and communication, and more!

The summer program duration is approximately 6 weeks.Ìý

Program Courses include:

  • Required pre-departure seminar on campus leading up to the trip

Packing for a Semester Abroad

Deciding what to pack for a semester abroad can be extremely overwhelming. You don’t want to under-pack but you also don’t want to take too much. Our two Student Travel Consultants, Garhett and Courtney recently spent semesters abroad. In this blog, they will share what they packed and some overall advice on what to bring with you!

Semester Along the Nile - Uganda

This semester-long program allows students to complete academic coursework, including service learning (GLOBE 494A) in Global Resource Systems, while living and learning in Kamuli, Uganda for the semester. While in Kamuli, students will be enrolled full-time and also have the opportunity to complete on-line ISU courses and in some majors, may complete an internship or independent project.ÌýStudents will also have the option to complete their Global Internship (GLOBE 321), and independent project (GLOBE 290 or 490), or earn service learning credits (GLOBE 494A).
